In this video, we explain that insomnia is a problem that occurs because the brain thinks that lack of sleep is a danger and is therefore afraid of the consequences of not sleeping. Being afraid keeps us hyper-alert, as if something is threatening us. To resolve this, you need to ‘make friendship’ with ‘being awake’, teaching your brain that staying awake isn't such a big deal. Use this time to do things that relax you, such as watching a film, reading a book or listening to music. Over time, you'll get used to it and have peaceful nights again!
